Concert recording of the Irish band The Young Folk from 5 March 2016.
Tonight Concertzender Live goes back to 5 March 2016, when the Irish band The Young Folk performed at pop venue ‘Doornroosje’ in Nijmegen. The band was shaped around guitarist and singer-songwriter Anthony Furey.
Anthony Furey comes from a musical family. He is the son of George Furey, who was a member of the famous band The Furey Brothers.
When they debuted ,The Young Folk were immediately compared to bands such as Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes by the British press.
They are no strangers to The Netherlands, because they’ve already performed in the TV show ‘The Dream’, hosted by Dutch singers Nick & Simon.
The group has been a guest at Concertzender before: on 19 June 2015 they performed for the programme Acoustic Roots, from the Kargadoor in Utrecht.
