Recording from February 2008, Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Morton Feldman’s two-hour Violin and String Quartet performed by the Ives Ensemble.
In February 2008 a 4-day festival in honour of the American composer Morton Feldman took place in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ in Amsterdam. The Concertzender made several recordings during this festival, one of which we’ll play in today’s episode of Concertzender Archive. Listen to one of Feldman’s marathon works; the almost two-hour-long Violin and String Quartet, a composition from 1985, performed by members of the Ives Ensemble, which also organised the festival.
