Škampa Quartet and Pražak Quartet play Haydn, Beethoven, Šmetana and Dvořák
The concert season of 2012/2013 in Utrecht was divided among different chambers, because the Muziekcentrum Vredenburg was being renovated. The chamber music disappeared to the Leeuwenbergh Church on the Servaasbolwerk. On 1 December 2012 the famous Czech Škampa Quartet played a programme of Haydn, Beethoven and Šmetana. They combined Hayden’s 1809 final quartet with Beethoven’s op.127. After the break you could hear the sound of the first quartet of their fellow countryman Šmetana, presenting a portrait of his life, including the annoying tinnitus he suffered from. The also Czech Pražak Quartet plays Dvořák’s Great Quartet in C major for you. They took the stage at Leeuwenbergh Church in Utrecht on 4 February 2013.
