Ein Deutsches Requiem is a statement by young Brahms who puts the death of his good friend Robert Schumann and the passing of his own mother into impressive notes.
In seven musical chapters, for which Brahms himself chose his bible texts, the choir and soloists alternate in contemplative and deeply felt emotions. In this case, the accompaniment is in the hands of two pianists. You could say it’s the original version. In addition, in the program you will hear a duo recital with French songs and Czech duets, and finally Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge.
