We turn Johann Sebastian Bach on his head a bit with Überbach, by German composer Arash Safaian. It’s not really copy-pasting Bach’s work, but an ode to the infinity of music. ‘What Newton was to the interpretation of the world, Bach was to music; just as universal as gravity. That is why,’ Safaian says, ‘I’ve decided to create music about Bach’s music.’ The composer forges the notes together: just when you think it’s going to be kemp, the music finds it way back to the light.
