On the occasion of the Holland Festival, with George Crumb as featured composer, we pay attention to composers who experimented with new ways to play the piano. You will hear pieces in which the piano’s strings are played in stead of the keys, in which the keyboard is scraped and pieces in which the piano plays automatically.
