Contemporary Music

Australian contemporary composers have not been idle in the midst of the corona crisis. Just like in the Netherlands, audiences were scarcely allowed, but composing continued and so did recording in studios. In the previous edition of Contemporary Music, we were introduced to Australian composer Felicity Wilcox: she also went into the studio for the first recording of her chamber opera Threading the Light. This work will have its world premiere in Sydney in June 2022 by a young ensemble: The CoOperative.
