Australian horn trios.
There isn’t much music written for horn trio, so it’s remarkable that five Australian composers are brought together on a CD by the Quercus Trio. Based in Melbourne, the Quercus Trio is mainly interested in promoting new and Australian works featuring this combination of instruments: violin, horn, and piano. In this episode, works by Roger Smalley, Larry Sitsky, Catherina Likhuta, and Don Banks will be featured.
