Educational programme with early music. Simpson Upon a Ground, divisions for viola da gamba by Christopher Simpson: virtuoso gamba music in the English style.

Halfway through the 17th century, the ‘Divisions upon a ground’ theme was very popular. English composer and gambist Christopher Simpson explained this theme extraordinarily well in his book ‘The Division Violist’.
This Documento contains a number of examples, performed by prominent gambists.
