ABOUT GERGIS:
Mark Gergis (formerly of the United States) began the Porest project in the 1990s. In his other life, with the Sublime Frequencies label, and his Sham Palace label, Mark has shared decades of research and scores of archived international music, film footage and sound recordings acquired during extensive travels in the Middle East and South East Asia. Mark is currently developing a multi-faceted archival project to restore, preserve, catalog and share of Syrian and Iraqi media amassed over three decades in the Middle East and from within diaspora communities in the United States and Europe.
