#574: KYOTO by Jørgen Teller
poet, musician and composer
This new radio-work is a part of a – so called – absent poetry project he calls CITY GONG.
CITY GONG is a unique poetic effort that moves in and out of real and fctional visits across a seri- es of 21 cities around the world
Before Jørgen’s 2nd visit to WORM he went through his archive of WORM recordings from 2014. He found recordings using the ARP 2500 and the Publison DHM-89 B2 Stereo Pitch Shifter Delay ao. and extra stuff he created for his solo project Static Teller and also he found his reading of “KYOTO” which is part of CITY GONG.
In october 2026 he visited WORM again and these fles were used to create this radio-work.
A special overdub with his OVUM synthesizer were later done at Inkonst Synth Studio in Malmö.
The poetry writing started in 2013 when Jørgen discovered a series of city-notebooks from the publisher Moleskine. These were designed as do-it-yourself guidebooks and travel journals for major cities around the world. Jørgen started by buying one. But soon he found 10 more, and later another 10 on sale.
This set a frame for the project. The writing took place between 2013 and 2017 during daily outdoor handwritten sessions – always written shortly after his daily Qi Gong practice. The full book is still in edit. At this moment Jørgen has used 2 other city-books for lyrics and his vocals recorded with David Sutherland and Paul Stillwell; released on Bandcamp:
