Conductor, composer and pianist Duke Ellington (1899-1974)

In the broadcast DUKE ELLINGTON (episode 215), you will listen to Ellington as a piano soloist in two Piano Recitals: the first on 4 January 1962 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the second on 20 May 1964 at Columbia University’s Wollman Auditorium in New York. You will also hear two more unique piano pieces from 1965 and 1966.
