Early Delights

Early Delights, an hour of early music on Sunday. Special delights from the Middle Ages up and to High Baroque. The Song of Songs put to music.

The Song of Songs, or Shir’ Hashirim, or Canticum Canticorum, is one of the books from the Old Testament. The theme of the Song of Songs is the love between bridegroom, Solomon, and his bride.
Many composers set parts of the Song of Songs to music. That is why we can play several works with this theme.
