Entrata

thu 20 nov 2008 13:00 hrs

Two different interpretations by Les Witches and harpsichord player Guy Penson of music from the Manuscrit Susanne van Soldt, are compared to each other.

In this Entrata, we become ‘Discotable’ for an hour. We compare two interpretations of the same manuscript, the ‘Manuscrit Susanne van Soldt’ from 1599. The performers are French ensemble Les Witches and Flemish harpsichord Guy Penson (on two different virginals) with recorder player Patrick Denecker.
The pieces of music from this manuscript are traditional dances and psalms from the Netherlands, the variations are probably made by the two copyists.
