An Italian Rant. Multiple performances of this well-known theme from the 17th century.

An Italian Rant is also known as: Ballo delle Virtu, Ballo di Mantova, Sonata prima sopra fuggi dolente and Fuggi fuggi.This theme  (which may be known from the Moldau van Smetana) can be heard in all sorts of historic forms during this programme, and is alternated with other Italian instrumental works from the same time period, namely the early 17th century.
