Folk it Mediterranean focuses on the musical riches of the Mediterranean. This time in the spotlights: Brigan, the South Italian band that mixes traditional music with electronic influences.
Brigan released Luna, Cera & Vino last March. In this programme we will play various pieces from these albums.
Brigan was founded in 2009 in the Italian region of Campania, near Naples. Since then they have released 5 CDs and a couple of singles, were awarded several prizes and have performed a lot.
The CDs that were released so far reveal a multitude of influences: from Celtic music to that of northern Scandinavia, and of course from the Mediterranean countries. On the one hand, there is respect for the original music. On the other hand, possibilities offered by, for example, electronics are also exploited.
