In ‘Genius Musical Friends’ program maker Thijs Bonger explores the very amicable relationship between Haydn and Mozart, and what it has brought in their music. The play string quartets and Haydn’s quartets are often displayed on the music stand. When Mozart hears something he likes, he immediatly grabes a pen and to start composing something similar. He composes a series of superior string quartets, which Haydn admires deeply. Eventually Mozart dedicates them to his older colleague. Haydn, on his turn, gets inspired by Mozart’s works and composes a new series. We are going to let yoou hear the influence they had on each other, and how their works flourished.
