Genius Music Friends

tue 3 dec 2019 20:00 hour

In 1791, the last year of his life, Mozart composed quite some pieces for rather eccentric instruments. In the previous episode we already mentioned the musical clock and today’s epsiode of ‘Genius Music Friends’ is about the glass harmonica, which was played at that time by the virtuoso Marianne Kirchgessner (see picture), who was blind and performed together with Mozart his own composition. A few years later, she shared the stage with Haydn, who conducted his Symphony no 101 ‘The Clock’.
