Haydn’s Lieder

During his search for links between Haydn and Mozart, Thijs Bonger found himself on a new side path; Haydn’s Lieder. And while listening, he fell from one surprise to the next. So much beauty that you seldom or never hear. Today first two English arrangements of his instrumental music. And then the songs he wrote in England, with , stylish, sad lyrics by his good friend Anne Hunter (see portrait).
