Piano player and composer Thelonious Monk (1917-1982). Recently released CD of a great concert in the series ‘Jazz at the Concertgebouw’, the legendary night concerts in Amsterdam. The recordings were recently released by the Nederlands Jazz Archief and are from May 1961. The other musicians in this quartet were: tenor player Charlie Rouse, bass player John Ore and percussion player Frankie Dunlop.
