Klankenstapper

This time in Klankenstapper we will pay attention to different string instruments in folk music from Turkey and Greece. The Turkish kementsja, de politiki lyra (Istanbuls lira), the lira of the isle of Crete, the lira of Thrace and the Greek kementze will come by together with the pontic lyra (from the coast of the Black sea). We will listen to virtuoso Mathaios Tsahourides in a special collaboration with Iranian musicians: Ardeshir Kamkar on the Persian Kementsja and Hussein Zahawy on percussion.
