Mandolino Lombardo (London Victoria and Albert Museum)

A baroque instrument, which nowadays has been quite neglected is the mandolin, or mandola. Both terms have been used interchangeably. It  was especially popular in Italy and has been written about by many composers, such as Vivaldi. However, today we will be playing six lesser known pieces, by six unknown composers. All pieces are performed by the ensemble Artemandoline.
