Today, Mambo focuses on Eddie Iglesias and his band The Bad Street Boys.
In the last episodes we could hear that Eddie Iglesias played a prominent role in Bobby Rodriguez y la Compaňia. From a young age, the trombonist and singer also played with the Afro-Philipino Joe Bataan and his latino-soul group Mr. New York & his East Side Kids. At the start of this episode, you will hear two songs from this musical collaboration.
In 1984, Eddie Iglesias, after leaving Bobby Rodriguez y la Compaňia, started the group Los Amigos & the Bad Street Boys. That name was soon shortened to just The Bad Street Boys.
In 1987, this band released the album ‘Looking for trouble’, on which the band was accompanied by Cuban New Yorker José Manuel Jr., who played percussion.
