“Mariama”, a programme with African music. Koffi Olomidé (2).
Koffi Olomidé (1956) is a singer from the Republic of Congo and one of the biggest stars of the "Soukous", a dance style that is very popular in big parts of Africa. Koffi started as a songwriter and recorded his first single in 1977. After that he worked together with Papa Wemba and Zaiko Langa Langa. He recorded his first album (Ngouda) in 1983 and set up his own group Quartier Latin two years later. At the moment he is probably the most famous Soukous-singer and has released about 20 albums. In this Mariama we will focus on more recent recordings.
