In 1958 Lokua Kanza was born of a Congolese father and Rwandese mother in the Republic of Congo .In 1984 he left to Paris and worked together with a.o. Ray Lema and in the accompanying band of saxophone player Manu Dibango. The singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer Lokua Kanza has become an established name: his debut album released in 1993 and was an immediate succes. Till now he made 4 solo records. As a producer and arranger he worked with a.o. Miriam Makeba, Papa Wemba, Koffi Olomidé and Youssou N’Dour. Lokua Kanza makes melodious music with often skillfulguitar play and interesting vocals.
