Metamorphoses

Roland Becker is one of the most innovative representatives of contemporary Breton music. He is not only a versatile musician but also a passionate ethnomusicologist who applies his knowledge of the history of folk music in a diversity of traditional as well as new genres.
In this audio-biographic episode of Metamorphoses, we start with the ‘celtic jazz’ from Becker’s earliest CD. Naturally, we give some attention to the sound experiment of Jour de Fête et Fête de Nuit, but also to his more traditional productions. We close off with his most recent innovation, electronic music that is best described as ‘celtic lounge’.
