Music from the forgotten valley of Valley Tonga

Since time immemorial, the Valley Tonga lived in a difficult accessible valley by the Zambezi river … until the Kariba dam was built in 1959 and they were forced to move to higher areas, spread across Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Because they lived in an isolated area until then, their musical culture has been preserved well. They may have moved to a new location, but their habits remain. The music from the Valley Tonga has its own character and can sometimes be incomprehensible. Listening to their curious Budima music is a unique experience.
You can hear the Valley Tonga music from the forgotten valley.
