Metamorphosis

One of the special aspects of the contemporary Czech music culture is the almost natural connection between old traditions with new forms. In the beginning of the last century the folk music of Bohemia and Moravia has been an important source of inspiration for classical composers like Dvorak, Smetana, Martinu and Janacek. 
Nowadays this influence has expanded to genres like pop, jazz and all kinds of alternative and experimental musical styles. This happy anarchistic and at the same time serious allogamy is maybe typically Czech and forms a central theme in this broadcast with music by the Hradistan Folk Ensemble, Iva Bittová, Vladimir Václavek and duo Dva.
