Western religious music from different centuries. In this episode, we’ll listen to a Funeral cantata by the 18th-century German composer Joseph Martin Kraus, Court Kapellmeister of the Swedish king Gustav III. In the year of his own passing, 1792, Kraus wrote this cantata for the shot and killed king, who died earlier that same year.
