Missa etcetera

This programme is dedicated to Baroque music for Advent and Christmas by three French composers: Henry du Mont, Sébastien de Brossard and Marc-Antoine Charpentier.

Henry du Mont was of Flemish origin but worked most of his life in France, where he became one of the founders of the grand motet.
Sébastien de Brossard is best known as a music collector who saved many compositions from oblivion. Finally, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, from whom we hear some short histoires sacrées, betraying the influence of Giacomo Carissimi.
