The earliest blues recordings.
Chippie Hill’s (1905-1950) voice was not as powerful as Bessie Smith’s or Ma Rainey’s. But her singing was very expressive and she was supported by the top jazz musicians of her time, Louis Armstrong for one. Recordings from 1925-1929.
