Moanin’ the Blues

The Newport Jazz Festival first started during the mid-1950s. At the beginning of the 1960s blues singers were added to the programme as well. In this broadcast we will play recordings of those performances with a.o. Robert Pete Williams, John Lee Hooker, Son House, Sleepy John Estes, Mississippi John Hurt, Skip James and others.
