What does a contrabass clarinet look like?

Tobias Klein (born in Saabrückne in 1967) moved to Amsterdam in 1990 to study saxophone and bass clarinet at the conservatory of Amsterdam with, among others, Jasper Blom and Harry Sparnaay. As a performer, he mainly focuses on improvised music and contemporary jazz, but he also studied contemporary composed music and he uses live electronic techniques. His music shows influences of African, Eastern-European and Asian elements. He is a member of several groups, both as part of a duo and as a member of large rensembles. Tobias went on tour with many great musician such as  Marc Ducret, Chris Speed, Jasper Stadhouders, Raphael Vanoli, Martin van Duynhoven and Priya Purushothaman. Tobias also composes for contemporary jazz groups and chamber music ensembles. In 2010, he received the North Sea Jazz Composition Prize.
