Nuove Musiche

mon 20 mar 2017 18:00 hour
Composer: Johannes Ockeghem

This hour features a new, special CD with early music, a new CD of masses by Ockeghem, performed by Beauty Farm.

Johannes Ockeghem lived in the 15th century and was a composer of the Franco-Flemish school of music. He was known for being a marvel in technicality. He was one of the first composers to write a mass on the famous song “L’Homme Armé”.
With his “Missa Quinti toni”m Ockeghem tried to be more than an ‘eccentric investigator of canons’. With its sereen nature and clear notes (the fifth note in the title is similar to today’s F Major), Ockeghem shows, with this mass, his calm and lyrical side.

The singers of Beauty Farm were part of internationally renowned ensembles, such as Capilla Flamenca, Huelgas Ensemble and Vox Luminis. They specialize in Franco-Flemish Polyphonic of the Renaissance.
