Max Teeuwisse (the Netherlands, 1929-2014) was a spectacular character who played the guitar and trombone and was also a singer. He was especially known for his farm in Den Oever (to the north-west of the Netherlands) where he regularly organised jazz concerts. Today we will hear him as a vocalist where he sings famous American songs, which he has provided with a cynical Dutch text filled with word plays. Recordings from 1989 with support from then promising young Dutch musicians. His stage name was Max Teawhistle.
