Trumpet player Don Sleet (1938-1986) always remained unknown, probably because he only made 1 record under his own name with saxophone player Jimmy Heath and others. Still, he deserves more attention if you consider his excellent performance, that reminds one of Kenny Dorham and Chet Baker. Furthermore, a number of other rare recordings from him as sideman with drummer Lennie McBrowne’s group.
