The American trombonist and composer Rod Levitt (1929-2007) was kind of a outcast in the world of jazz and never acquired much fame. This is a terrible shame because his music is original, energetic and with a dash of humor and beautiful arrangements. And om top of that as a trombonist Levitt was one of a kind. These are the recordings with his octet from 1964 and 1965.
