Congolese singer Mbilia Bel is one of the most successful African singers of the last decades. ‘Ba gerants ya mabala’ from 1984 is one of her excellent albums with festive soukous music. In addition some fifties recordings from the Congolese singer/guitarist Franco (1938-1989), released in 1999 on the CD ‘Originalité’. Franco was a big shot in the field of rumba and soukous music and one of the founders of these styles.
