Christian Chants from the Middle East.
Welcome to this episode of Orient Express. Good Friday falls on 26 of April this year for eastern churches, as they make use of the Julian calendar. It is a good opportunity to take a peek into the rich musical tradition of the churches of the Middle East.
We’ll listen to chants of various church traditions from Lebanon, Egypt and Syria.
