Classical Ottoman music from the Lâmekân Ensemble.
The Lâmekân Ensemble is a young classical Turkish music sextet founded in 2011 by Belgian former player and musicologist Tristan Driessens. With an international setting of first-class musicians from both Turkey and Europe, the Lâmekân Ensemble invites the audience to (re) discover the musical heritage of the Ottoman Empire. The Lâmekân Ensemble in an initiative that proves that true musical passion extends beyond all cultural, religious and geographical boundaries. The album you will listen to was released in 2017 under the title: The Book of Lovers.
