This collection, curated by ethnomusicologist Dr. Laxmi Ganesh Tewari, focuses on the musical styles of the people of Uttar Pradesh, India. The songs and stories have been recorded over the course of nearly 30 years (early 70s to late 90s), demonstrating the subtle variety of sounds, approaches and traditions even within this small region.

Rabba Mereya : Sufi music of Punjab.
Rabba Mereya is a Punjabi term that translates into “My Lord”. Often mentioned in the devotional songs of Punjab, this term is not limited to one religion. A call to God, the various religious traditions of Punjab such as Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism etc. are known to use this term. This album features songs from these devotional traditions with a variety of artists. The instruments used range from the Harmonium, Tabla and Chimta to the Jogiya Sarangi and the Algoza and bring to life the spiritual dimensions of the folk realms of Punjab.
