Music from Iran, with the participation of: Mahsa Vahdat, Kayhan Kalhor & Brooklyn Rider.

1-
Mahsa Vahdat.
This album is a pilgrimage to beauty. Mahsa’s voice tells hidden stories and mysteries of ancient churches, castles and halls. Her orchestra is just the echo of walls, floors and columns in the rooms. She wanted to go to similar places in Iran, but because she is not allowed to perform in public places there, she had to move to Istanbul, Oslo, Wroclaw, Provence and Alhambra.
CD. A cappella: The sun will rise – Mahsa Vahdat.
LABEL: Kirkelig Kulturverksted (2016), code: FXCD 422. VIDEO

2-
Kayhan Kalhor & Brooklyn Rider.
Kalhor comes from a Kurdish family and was born in Tehran in 1963. He collaborated with big names of classical Iranian (Kurdish & Persian) music such as Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Hossein Alizadeh, with whom he formed the ensemble Masters of Persian Music. His relentless search for new forms of collaboration also sometimes brought him together with Indian musicians. For this album, he plays with the Turkish saz player Erdal Erzincan and the American string quartets Kronos & Brooklyn Rider.
