He is master of the sato (tanbûr lute with bow) and joins the interpreters of the great Tajik classical repertoire. The wavy and refined lines of the sato are accompanied by singing, the lute and sometimes percussion. Abduvali Abdurashidov has collected some interpretations in the field of Tajikistan’s classical expression, as well as examples of “traditional” music. Today, the expression “traditional” music refers to a wide variety of styles, ranging from the most learned songs to “simple” dance melodies.
