Today the trip goes to Persia, with Sussan Deyhim – Mahsa & Marjan Vahdat & Kronos Quartet.

1- Sussan Deyhim.
The first solo project of the astonishing Iranian diva Sussan Deyhim from New York is based on poems by Rumi, Saadi and other Persian Sufi masters, on a mix of traditional Persian music and delicate electronics, with her extraordinary singing at the center. The result is an inspired, exciting and deeply spiritual masterpiece. Sussan Deyhim is accompanied by a classical musician, a jazz bassist and two percussionists.

2- Mahsa & Marjan Vahdat & Kronos Quartet.
For the Iranian sisters Mahsa and Marjan Vahdat, who live in Norway, it was a milestone to record an album together with the Kronos Quartet. One of the most celebrated and influential string quartets, it enters into innovative collaborations with composers and musicians from all over the world. Placeless focuses on the classic, timeless poetry of Hâfez and Rumi and of contemporary Persian poets. With beautiful voices, the sisters sing songs solo and sometimes together about love, sadness, hope and longing. The serving accompaniment of the strings is relatively sober but extremely effective in creating the right atmosphere.
