Fusion between Turkey, Armenia & Belgium,
produced by Cobie Ivens
Mercan Dede & Ozcan Deniz, Taksim trio, Burhan Oçal. (22:08 min)
To celebrate the label’s 10th anniversary, Doublemoon set out to document the sounds of Istanbul: the sea, the streets, the people, and the culture. They did this through the music of the musicians who work there, and by presenting two documentaries and a booklet with intimate photos representing a multitude of styles and sounds from the city. The mix on this album is a tribute to the fact that an audiovisual treat like this can only be born in the misty twilight of Istanbul.
