Musical Romanticism, explored by Pieter de Oude.

Alexander Borodin: piano quintet in C minor, string quartet No. 2 in D major.

An hour full of chamber music of Alexander Borodin. He is best known for his beautiful symphonies and his impressive opera Prince Igor. Additionally, Borodin wrote beautiful chamber music that captures the Russian soul and his love for his Katja in musical notes. His muse Katja allegedly whispered to him the melodies for his piano quintet on a romantic trip in Italy. She was also his inspiration for his second string quartet. By that time, they were married for twenty years. Borodin was the kind of composer that simply continued to work alongside composing. He was a chemist and had a happy marriage, in contrast with his fellow composers such as Rimsky-Korsakov and Mussorgsky.
