Music from the 15th and 16th century. This episode is dedicated to Cipriano de Rore, who was born in Flanders, but who spent the greater part of his working life in Ferrara.
De Rore became known especially because of his madrigals, but he also composed religious music.
We hear motets to both spiritual and worldly texts, and some madrigals from the first book that Rore published (in 1542).
