A musical serial. Episode 8, Harbour Ambience; Perth, Plymouth & Vancouver.
Canadian Composer Raymond Murray Schafer made many field recordings of his city Vancouver in the 70`s. This episode juxtaposes those recordings with the Café Conrete Plymouth City Project, for which several sound artists were asked to comment on the sights and sounds of Plymouth in the UK in 2010. One church bell that features in the Vancouver recordings plays a tune very similar to one heard daily in Perth, Western Australia, which brings in Perth as third city in this episode full of field recordings.
