American singer Alison Krauss is mainly known for expressing bluegrass music, but she made an unalloyed gospel record with the Cox family from Louisiana. Bernice Johnson Reagon comes from the tradition of choral singing in the Black American Baptist Church. But instead of using a choir, she used only her own voice and multitracking techniques.
