Slipped through the net

Thanks to an entire generation of young musicians, the old Finnish kantele (zither) is alive and kicking again. The compilation album Kantele Continuum offers an overview of the most important players, among who are the duo Sinikka & Matti Kontio, Timo Vänäänen and Arja Kastinen. Furthermore in this episode, the collaboration project May Monday by accordion player Karen Tweed and pianist Timo Alakotila. Guitar player Roger Tallroth and accordion player Maria Kalaniemi also cooperated in this project.
